PERFORMANCE FOR MOVING EQUIPMENT
Precision Stock Shapes for Machinery Components.
Industrial machinery components must manage repeated motion, mechanical load, impact, vibration, temperature and exposure to lubricants or process chemicals.
Engineering plastics can replace selected metal parts to reduce mass, noise and lubrication demand while improving corrosion resistance and protecting mating surfaces.
ZERO supplies semi-finished rods and sheets for further machining. Material selection should be based on actual pressure, speed, temperature, environment, tolerance and expected service life.
MACHINERY PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Properties That Influence Reliability and Service Life.
The best material balances motion, load, environment and manufacturability rather than relying on one headline property.
Wear Resistance
Support sliding and rolling parts exposed to repeated contact and abrasive conditions.
Low Friction
Reduce drag, stick-slip, noise and dependence on external lubrication where appropriate.
Mechanical Strength
Carry static, cyclic and impact loads within the component’s geometry and safety factor.
Dimensional Stability
Maintain clearances, alignment and accurate features through operating changes.
Chemical Resistance
Evaluate lubricants, coolants, cleaning agents and process chemicals at service temperature.
Precision Machinability
Enable complex replacement parts, prototypes and repeatable production dimensions.

MACHINERY APPLICATION FAQ
Before Replacing a Metal Machinery Part.
Review the complete operating system, not only the original component dimensions.
Potential benefits include lower mass, reduced noise, corrosion resistance, electrical insulation, protection of mating surfaces and less lubrication. Suitability depends on load, temperature, stiffness and dimensional requirements.
There is no universal choice. POM, PA6, PET, PEEK and modified bearing grades suit different pressure, speed, temperature, moisture, chemical and lubrication conditions.
Some designs may operate with little or no external lubrication, but gear geometry, load, speed, temperature, mating gear, noise and target life must be evaluated together.
Moisture absorption can change dimensions and properties in some materials, especially polyamides. Define humidity or water exposure and required tolerances before selection.
